SYNOPSIS:
“Peace at Border areas, makes Nation peaceful” – Mahatma Gandhi.
In the post-Independence days bowing to linguistic pressures & commercial interests, India’s states were reorganized according to language domination. During that time some of border areas where the Kannadigas were in large numbers were added to adjoining states, by not adding to Karnataka State. Why did this happen, the question still remains as the question !! ‘Thalavadi’ is a town in such a border region, though in Tamil Nadu, the Kannadigas are in large number. Because Tamil people are also studying in Kannada Schools, the Kannada-Tamil bilingual culture is evolving and Ideal for the harmony of the two neighbouring states. Creating awareness of unique issues faced in the border area, ‘Thalavadi’ peoples life-style, Love for Kannada, friendly environment & in addition the unleashing pure love story of Kannada boy & the Tamil girl, has inspired the film ‘Halmidi’.
